When will the museum open?
Brookshire’s Wildlife Museum is opening early November 2025. Stay tuned for the official opening date!

What are the Museum hours?
Tuesday–Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Closed Sundays and Mondays
Is there an admission fee?
No! Admission is completely free as a community service of Brookshire Grocery Company.
Reservations & Tickets
Do I need a ticket to visit?
Yes. While admission is free, reservations are required for safety and comfort. We recommend reserving tickets online in advance.
How long does a visit take?
The self-guided tour takes about 30 minutes.
What will I see at the museum?
You'll explore 150 preserved animals including a towering 10-foot polar bear, African lions, an American bison, and a replica 1920s Country Store filled with historic grocery artifacts.
Is the museum suitable for children?
Absolutely! It’s a fun, hands-on learning experience for kids of all ages.
Group Visits
Can I bring a large group?
Yes. Groups of up to 25 can tour together. If your group is larger, the Annex can serve as a waiting space.
How do I book a group tour?
Group reservations can be made in advance through our reservation system (link or QR code provided).
Annex Rentals & Events
What is the Brookshire’s Museum Annex?
The Annex is a 750 sq. ft. rental space perfect for meetings or events — with or without a museum tour.
What are the Annex hours?
By reservation only.
*The Annex is also available to reserve after Museum hours.
What amenities are included?
• Seating for up to 36 guests and includes 10 additional bench seats
• Audio/Video presentation setup
• Catering is available from FRESH by Brookshire’s as a self-serve option.
*Please be advised that the staff of Brookshire’s Wildlife Annex are not authorized to serve food during events. Guests may utilize self-service from the Annex counter, event hostesses may serve attendees, or professional servers from FRESH may be arranged for an additional fee.

Accessibility & Policies
Is the museum wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the museum is fully accessible for guests with mobility needs.
Can I bring food or drinks into the museum?
No outside food or drink is allowed. Catering is available from FRESH by Brookshire’s as a self-serve option.
Are pets allowed?
Only service animals are permitted inside the museum.
Licensed Educational Display
How is the museum licensed?
Brookshire’s Wildlife Museum is proudly licensed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department under Educational Display Permit #EDU-1224-148. This permit authorizes the museum to collect, possess, and display salvaged wildlife specimens—including mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, and more—for the purpose of conservation education. Our displays meet the standards set forth by Texas Parks and Wildlife to promote public awareness and understanding of native Texas species.
