Experience a free, family-friendly journey through native wildlife, conservation stories, and East Texas heritage. Our tours offer an up-close look at nature’s beauty and the legacy of the Brookshire family’s local preservation efforts.

Opening in the Future: The Annex, a flexible rental space for meetings and community events. Soon you’ll be able to host business functions, club meetings, or group gatherings here — with the option to add a museum tour to your event.

Opening in the Future: Elevate your gathering with chef-prepared catering from FRESH by Brookshire’s. If you're hosting a meeting or special event at the Annex, our fresh, flavorful menu options make planning easy and delicious.

*Please be advised that the staff of Brookshire’s Wildlife Annex are not authorized to serve food during events. Guests may utilize self-service from the Annex counter, event hostesses may serve attendees, or professional servers from FRESH by Brookshire’s may be arranged for an additional fee.

Museum Hours

The museum is open weekly at the following times:

  • Tuesday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Closed Sunday & Monday

Admission Details

Admission is free as a community service of Brookshire Communities Foundation and Brookshire Grocery Company. However, reservations are required to help us manage guest flow.

Tours take about 30 minutes.

Step into a world of awe-inspiring wildlife and immersive habitat exhibits featuring animals from North America, the Artic and Africa.
The museum showcases 150 mammals, reptiles, birds, and aquatic species, including:

  • A towering 10-foot polar bear

  • Majestic African lions

  • An impressive American bison

  • Bears, wolves, and wildcats native to Texas and beyond

Each exhibit includes fascinating details about the animals’ habitats, diets, and conservation efforts—making it both a visual and educational experience.

The Country Store Exhibit

Take a walk back in time through our replica 1920s country store similar to the original Brookshire’s store in downtown Tyler.
See authentic grocery items and packaging from nearly 100 years ago and explore how shopping looked in generations past.
